Woolworths owns controlling shares of Petstock (55%)

SKYNEWS REPORTS: Petstock has joined Woolworths and a growing number of organisations boycotting Australia Day.

Staff members have been told not to dress up on Australia Day and not to decorate their stores in the days leading up to January 26.

This applies to more than 2,500 staff members across 272 stores in Australia.

A Petstock spokesperson said the company wants to remain committed to ensuring that Petstock is an inclusive organisation for customers in-store and online.

Last December, Woolworths acquired 55¹ per cent shares of Petstock, which means the Woolworths Group has control over the pet store.
