2023 FEB 21 HAWKES BAY devastated by CYCLONE GABRIELLE. Official Death Report 11; reliable source says at least 40 bodies so far in a makeshift morgue at the Napier Port
IT IS EXPECTED TO EXPAND GREATLY MANY LOST IN PAKOWHAI
NEW ZEALAND: the aftermath of the Cyclone that last week wrecked havoc and destruction has yet to be fully realised.
Thousands of New Zealanders are daily battling with the left-over signatures of flooding millions of dollars of personal property rendered useless destroyed by contaminated silty water damage that leaves the items fit only for discarding at a local dump.
Major items of cars, caravans and recreational boats washed away many yet to be located those to fit only for the disposal centres; in worst hit regions buildings are so badly flood damaged they are beyond repair and just need to be demolished completely.
LOSS OF THE IRREPLACEABLE.
Worst of all people’s personal treasures of items which hold special sentiment have all been lost irreplaceable for some this will have emotional impacts of the magnitude of having a family member pass away.
Hundreds of people will have lost their much loved pets cats dogs and birds etc; such losses for some will have the same emotional impact of a death in the family please be sensitive to each other and make time to talk and listen to others about how they are going; people grieving don’t need you to fix anything they just need to sense you care and understand, a hug goes a million miles, 10 minutes of listening with genuine care and interest over a cuppa is a healing tonic of great worth.
FORTY PLUS BODIES - MANY MORE EXPECTED
MAKESHIFT MORGUE - NAPIER PORT
The Hawke’s Bay have yet to be informed the extent of loss of human life this has been withheld for various reasons my sources have informed me that currently in a makeshift Morgue at the Napier Port there is 40 forty bodies to date and that number is expected to expand greatly as many, many other people have lost their lives at Pakowhai in Napier/Hastings.
When your see the images being shared of the flooding it is not hard to understand why there such a large loss of human life.
A SECOND SOURCE SAID:
“Continued eyewitness reports of mass body bags in an off-limits area in Napier port. It has been suggested that all the full body bags are from a UN military force that had an off-radar base in the bush and got wiped out.”
